This privacy policy applies to the Foodimal app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Monolithic Innovations Pty Ltd (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service.


Time Zone Information


The Application does not ask for, access, or track any precise location-based information (such as GPS data) from your mobile device.


To provide a personalised experience, such as timing your meal reminders and content correctly, the Application accesses your device's local time zone setting. This information is not used to determine your specific geographical location.


Information You Provide to Us


To use the core features of the Foodimal app, we require you to provide certain information to create your personal profile. We are committed to collecting only the data that is necessary to provide and improve our service. The information we collect includes:

  • Email Address: We use your email address solely to create and secure your account.

  • UserID: This is an anonymous identifier automatically generated by our system. It is used to manage your account data, such as your progress and subscription status, without being linked to your real-world identity.

  • Health & Fitness Profile (Age, Gender, Weight, Height, Activity Level): We use this information to calculate personalised health metrics, such as your recommended daily caloric intake and fitness goals. This data is essential for the core functionality of the app.


Third-Party Access and Data Sharing


We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share your information with trusted third-party service providers (known as "sub-processors") who are essential for us to operate, secure, and improve the Application. These providers have their own strict privacy policies and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.

Our trusted service providers are:

  • Expo: Our app is built using the Expo framework. Expo may collect technical data, such as your device's IP address and operating system, to ensure the application functions correctly. You can review their policy here: https://expo.io/privacy

  • RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to process and manage in-app subscriptions. To link your purchases to your account, we share your anonymous UserID with RevenueCat.   • Neon: We use Neon as our backend database provider to securely store your account information. This includes your email address and your personal health profile data. You can review their policy here: https://neon.tech/privacy-policy

  • Sentry: We use Sentry for crash reporting and performance monitoring to help us identify, diagnose, and fix bugs and performance issues within the Application. When the app encounters an error, Sentry may collect technical information such as your anonymous UserID, IP address, device type, and operating system, along with the error report. Analytics


We do not use any third-party analytics services to track your individual marketing or behavioral patterns within the Application.


As described above, we use Sentry for the specific purpose of monitoring the technical performance of our app and identifying crash reports. This data helps us improve the stability and reliability of our service for all users.


Legal Disclosures


We may also disclose your information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;

  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.


Your Rights and Choices

We believe you should have control over your information. We provide you with the following rights and choices:

  • Access and Correct Your Information: You can review and update your profile information (such as your weight, height, and activity level) at any time directly within the Application's settings.

  • Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data. If you choose to delete your account, you will no longer be able to use the Application.

  • Object to Processing: The collection of your email and health profile data is necessary for the Application to function. If you do not want this data to be processed, your only option is to not create an account or to delete your existing account.

  • Uninstall: You can stop all information collection by the Application by uninstalling it using the standard process for your mobile device.


Data Retention and Deletion


We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active.

When you delete your account via the in-app settings, we will initiate a process to permanently erase your personal data. This data will be fully deleted from our production systems and backups within 90 days. This retention period is necessary to ensure the complete and safe removal of your data from all our systems.


Please note that we may retain anonymised and aggregated data, which cannot be linked back to you, for analytical and statistical purposes.


Children's Privacy


Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16.


We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16.


If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hi@foodimal.app so that we can take the necessary actions.


Security


The security of your personal data is a top priority for us. We have implemented a variety of industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect the information we process and maintain. These measures include:

  • Encryption: We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL/TLS) technology to encrypt all data transmitted between the Application and our servers ("in transit"). We also encrypt your personal data when it is stored in our databases ("at rest").

  • Access Controls: We implement strict access controls to ensure that only authorised personnel who require the information to perform their job duties have access to your personal data. These personnel are subject to strict confidentiality obligations.


Please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
